On 20 August, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Drug Policy Strategy of Ukraine until 2030, as well as the operational plan for its implementation for the period 2025-2027. The previous drug policy strategy had been in effect until 2020. The Eastern and Central European and Central and Central Asian Commission on Drug Policy (ECECACD) welcomes the adoption of the strategy, including its focus on health and human rights, having advocated with government officials for the adoption of the strategy as part of the country’s European integration efforts when an ECECACD delegation conducted a visit to Ukraine in June.
