Global Commission Chair, Commissioner Helen Clark, has been awarded the International Council of Nurses (ICN) 2025 Health and Human Rights Award. Established 25 years ago, the award recognizes significant contributions to health and human rights and is ICN’s only award presented to someone outside the nursing profession.

Commissioner Clark has played a leading role in promoting global health, equitable access to services, and the protection of human rights. Her recognition underscores the principles that also guide the Global Commission on Drug Policy’s advocacy for health-centered, evidence-based approaches across public policy.
