The event was organized by the Association des intervenants en dépendance du Québec (AIDQ), Fédération Addiction, Fédération bruxelloise des institutions spécialisées en matière de drogues et addictions (féda bxl), Groupement Romand d’Études des Addictions (GREA), and Transform Drug Policy Foundation, in collaboration with practitioners and researchers from across the field.
The programme featured a roundtable discussion on the relevance of stimulant regulation in contemporary policy debates, followed by a presentation of the report’s core principles and proposed regulatory models for MDMA, amphetamines, and cocaine.
In her intervention, Commissioner Dreifuss offered a political and international perspective on stimulant regulation, emphasizing the importance of evidence-informed approaches and the need to move beyond prohibition-focused responses to drug-related harms. She highlighted the value of regulation as a pragmatic tool to better protect public health, reduce risks, and uphold human rights.
