Brendan Kahn

Brendan has studied at The University of Chicago (B.A., Political Science and Germanic Studies) and at The University of Vienna, (M.A., Political Science). Prior to joining the GCDP Secretariat, he worked with the HIV/AIDS Section of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), supporting the research, advocacy, and communications aspects of their work on HIV prevention, treatment, care and support among people who use drugs and people in prisons through a public health- and human rights-based lens. He was also engaged in coordinating UNODC’s activities under the auspices of its term as Chair of the Committee of Cosponsoring Organizations of the Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), which convenes the Heads of the 11 Cosponsoring Organizations of UNAIDS. He has previously worked as an English teacher in a Fulbright-administered programme in Austria, at a German EU policy think tank, and as a press and publicity officer for a multinational, independent music record label.
